Home Sweet Home

Here she is, our new home! After several months of house hunting, I finally found exactly what we were looking for. B and I had some requirements for our house in Hawaii, and military housing just wasn't going to give us what we were looking for. So we took our BAH (Basic Allowance for Housing) and went into town to find ourselves a home. Military housing was only offering us a 2bed/2bath home with single car garage space and no backyard. For the same price in town, we found ourselves a 4bed/3bath home with a 2 car garage and big fenced backyard! Score! I snatched it up the second we landed. We live in a quiet neighborhood called Ocean Pointe on the far west, Leeward, side of the island, about .9 miles from the beach. We couldn't be more happy here, and Koa and Keegan are LOVING their backyard!

Aloha...

I know its been a long while since my last post, but things have been a little hectic. On January 19th with two sea bags, 2 suitcases, a pack-n-play, highchair, stroller and car seat, we jumped on a plane and headed out into the Pacific to our new home. We made it in 6 hours and Keegan was awake on the plane the entire flight! We immediately went to check out two homes when we landed and scored the one we love the most. I will have pictures up soon of the house, I'm still just trying to get things organized. Our household goods didn't arrive until Feb. 10th, so we had to live a little less than a month in an empty house which was not very easy. Now that we have our computer up and running, I will post more often.

Our Baby Boy Turned ONE!!

Our baby had his first birthday party at Olympic Sound Soccer Club on Friday night! All the kids were able to run around the soccer field and kick balls. Brandon did a good job of waring them all out by chasing them around.

South Carolina

Our little family just got back from a trip to Monks Corner, SC to visit Yaya and Papa. Unfortunately, a hurricane graced us with crappy weather, but we still had a great time. We got to go to the Festival of Lights in Charleston, the South Carolina Aquarium, and take Keegan to the beach for the first time. Like always, the trip was too short and too fast!

Happy Halloween!

Since it was Keegans first Halloween, I thought it would be fun to throw a little party. All of our friends came over and brought their kids. They had Witch Hat calzones, monster mouth apples, and mummy chocolate peanut butter brownies. The played "Pin the bow tie on Dracula," jumped in leaves, and left with goodie bags filled with essentials for a long night of trick or treating! Keegan tried Trick or Treating, but only made it to two houses. He wasn't very interested. We did let him enjoy a sucker though...boy did he love it! We thought it was kind of funny that my Godchild Laila was Dorothy and Keegan was a monkey...Maybe a flying monkey???

ReEnlistment

Today, Brandon was discharged and enlisted back into the Navy for 6 more years. Brandon has decided to make the Navy a career and retire. As of today, Brandon only has 11 years left in the Navy. We still are not sure where we are going, but sometime between now and Jan. 15th, we will be going to either Guam, Hawaii, or Portsmouth. It was kind of cool because Keegan and I each got recognized today and received certificates for the duties we have as dependents of Active Duty military. Enjoy the pictures.

Who needs a stroller?

I wanted to share these pictures of Keegan eating Portabello Ravioli. He absolutely loved them. I havent really found anything my boy doesnt like, except for bread, but this I thought was very fancy. Obviously he needed a bath after that dinner and he and dad like to lounge on the couch to dry off.
I had to post this video because For some reason Keegan thinks its hilarious to scoot himself around while he is in his high chair. He has been doing this for about a month, but I was never brave enough to take the tray off. Once I did, he got around much quicker. Probably because he was able to build up more momentum. What a funny little guy!
